Studio Tack creates striking goldish interior for Tsukumi restaurant in New York

Tsukumi is a contemporary kaiseki restaurant situated in the basement space in Manhattan’s East Village. The project was designed by Brooklyn-based design and development group Studio Tack.

“Tsukimi is a modern kaiseki restaurant (Kaiseki is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner) by the team behind SakaMai. Tsukimi means moon-viewing, a tradition to celebrate the season, and wish for a good harvest while watching the bright full moon and its shades. Executive Chef and Partner Takanori Akiyama introduces his modern take on kaiseki cuisine in his tasting menu at Tsukimi. The twelve-course menu follows traditional flow, yet his dishes are bold, unique and approachable,” explains team of Tsukumi
