Studio Marlowe creates art-centric vibe at La Palma restaurant in Toronto

La Palma is a relexed all-day restaurant located in the Toronto’s neighbourhood Trinity-Bellwoods. The venue is run by creative duo – designer Alexandra Hutchison (founder of Studio Marlowe) and her partner, chef Craig Harding.

“For over a decade, we have called Toronto’s Trinity-Bellwoods neighbourhood home. Our first restaurant, Campagnolo, quickly became known as one of the city’s top restaurants and found its way onto national Best of lists. After a trip to California, we noticed that Venice Beach and Trinity-Bellwoods shared a similar artistic spirit and home for artists, designers and creators. If you’ve ever been to Bellwoods Park on a beautiful day you’ll notice it’s like the beach for the west end of Toronto. So we call it Bellwoods Beach! From this connection, and the idea of the fun and the familiar, La Palma was born. The design aesthetic and atmosphere of La Palma reflects VB’s art-centric vibe. It’s welcoming in its lively spiritedness and in its celebration of the neighbourhood. Craig is Italian at heart but the menu at La Palma reflects a California sensibility and remains playful, reflecting dishes and ingredients from other Mediterranean cuisines and cultures. Whether you’re grabbing take-out for an impromptu picnic in the park, or enjoying the perfect cup of coffee over a morning meeting, La Palma has you covered,” explain Alexandra and Craig
