PPT Interiorismo completes redesign of well-known vegetarian restaurant in Barcelona
Govinda, an Indian vegetarian restaurant established in 1986, was one of the pioneers of vegetarian restaurants in Barcelona, at a time where healthy food and a plant-based diet were not a trend. The owners of the restaurant hired PPT Interiorismo to complete a new design of the restaurant.
“The colors, scents and atmosphere present in Govinda remind us of India. The lifestyle they propose is conscious, a way of living that is reflected in the restaurant, on its design and values. The Indian culture can be felt through the materials, simple and naturals, the colors and the patterns. The floor is wooden and appliqués on the wall simulate the lampposts on the streets. Suspended lamps made of hemp and wicker create a warm and cozy atmosphere. We find tradition and modernity mixed in this restaurant full of color. The Acocsa tiles with a pattern designed by Sara Ureña decorate the centre of the place. Also, a tuc-tuc welcomes the clients, offering a salad buffet. All these elements tell the philosophy of Govinda and India, transporting us there,” says PPT Interiorismo
